Bitcoin ETF outflows hit $526M in four days
US spot Bitcoin ETFs bled $526M over four sessions as BTC slipped below $65K, though the yearly total still tops $51B.

US spot Bitcoin ETFs have now logged four straight days of outflows, pulling a combined $526 million out of the funds as Bitcoin failed to hold $65,000 and briefly touched $63,100, its lowest print since July 17.
The numbers behind the streak
The withdrawals weren't evenly spread. July 24 and July 23 accounted for the bulk, at roughly $240 million and $225 million respectively, according to SoSoValue data cited by Cointelegraph. Thursday's session alone saw about $49.8 million leave the funds. Zoom out and the picture looks less alarming: cumulative net inflows since launch still sit at $51.3 billion, with total net assets at $77.2 billion as of July 28. This four-day drain follows a seven-day inflow streak that had just brought in almost $1 billion. The bigger tell might be trading volume rather than ETF flows. CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost points out that Binance's spot volume for July sits near $35 billion, down from $246 billion in November 2024, a roughly 86% drop in activity on the exchange that has historically set the pace for Bitcoin's spot market.
What the flip actually signals
Four days of outflows after seven days of inflows isn't a trend reversal, it's ETF investors doing what they always do at resistance: taking profit when price stalls. Bitcoin couldn't clear $65,000, and the money that chased the prior rally left almost as fast as it arrived. That's a liquidity story, not a conviction story. The more useful signal is the volume collapse Darkfost flagged. When spot volume on the largest exchange falls by 86% from its late-2024 peak, price moves need less capital to happen, in either direction. That makes the ETF outflow number look bigger than the underlying market stress actually is: $526 million pulled from funds holding $77 billion in assets is under 0.7% of the total, well within normal weekly variance for a young asset class. The real question isn't whether ETF holders are nervous. It's whether the spot market underneath them has enough depth to absorb the next real shock without amplifying it.
One thing to watch
Watch whether Binance's spot volume recovers toward its historical range in the coming weeks. If it stays near $35 billion while ETF flows keep swinging by hundreds of millions a day, that thin liquidity will keep turning ordinary profit-taking into outsized price swings.
