Privacy

Short version: we collect almost nothing, we set no advertising cookies, we ask before setting an analytics cookie, and we never sell data.

What we collect

  • Email address, only if you subscribe. It is stored securely on our infrastructure (Vercel, private storage) and with our newsletter provider (beehiiv), and used solely to send you the briefing. Every email has an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
  • Anonymous usage statistics via Vercel Web Analytics and Ahrefs Web Analytics, both of which are cookieless and do not identify you. We see page views and countries, not people.
  • Google Analytics, but only if you accept the cookie banner. It sets a first-party analytics cookie so we can see which stories land. Until you accept it runs in Google's consent-mode "denied" state, which stores nothing on your device, and if you decline it stays that way.

Cookies and consent

The only cookie we ever set is the Google Analytics one above, and only after you click Accept. Decline and no analytics cookie is written. You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie choiceslink in the footer: Accept to turn analytics on, Decline to withdraw it. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie.

What we do not do

  • No advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
  • No selling or renting your data, ever.
  • No wallet connections, no on-chain data about you.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe at any time from the link in any email. To have your address deleted entirely, email hello@stackandstory.com and we will remove it from the provider within 30 days. EU readers have the rights set out in the GDPR, including access, correction, and erasure.

Third parties

The site is hosted on Vercel. Newsletter delivery runs on beehiiv. Cookieless analytics run on Vercel Web Analytics and Ahrefs Web Analytics; Google Analytics runs only once you consent. Market data comes from CoinGecko and is fetched by our servers, not your browser. Each processes only what is needed to provide the service.
