US spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $176 million on Tuesday, the second straight day of inflows after a rough end to last week. The two-day haul hit $286 million, enough to narrow October's net outflows to roughly $26 million.

The flow numbers

Bitcoin's bounce looks clean on the surface, but the fund-level data tells a split story between the two largest crypto ETF categories.

  • Bitcoin ETFs took in $176M Tuesday and $110M Monday, a $286M two-day total, per SoSoValue data via Cointelegraph
  • That followed nearly $774 million in Bitcoin ETF withdrawals over just Thursday and Friday
  • October's Bitcoin ETF net outflow sits near $26 million, against a year-to-date net inflow of about $850 million
  • Ether ETFs lost $149 million over the same Monday-Tuesday window, their fifth straight week in the red
  • Ether ETF outflows for October reached $1.32 billion, on pace for the worst month since November 2025

Where the capital is actually going

The default read treats this as Bitcoin sentiment turning the corner, pointing to the Fear & Greed Index ticking up to 51 from 48. That index is still sitting in "Neutral," well below the 63 "Greed" reading from a week earlier.

The real signal sits in the gap between the two assets. Bitcoin ETFs recovered $286 million in two days. Ether ETFs lost $149 million in the same stretch and are down $1.32 billion for the month.

That's a rotation. Allocators are treating Bitcoin as the safer harbor and pulling capital out of Ether at a pace not seen in nearly a year.

The $774 million outflow late last week shows how fast that Bitcoin allocation can reverse too. Two good days don't erase a trend; they interrupt one. October's net Bitcoin flow is still negative at $26 million even after the rebound.

Ether's bleed is the more durable number here. Four weeks of outflows before this week, now a fifth, adds up to a structural shift in how institutional money is weighting the two largest crypto assets. Bitcoin's wobble is a two-day story. Ether's drawdown is a five-week one.

What would change the read

A few concrete markers separate a real rotation from short-term noise.

  • Whether Ether ETFs post a net inflow week before November, breaking the four-week outflow streak
  • Whether Bitcoin's October net flow turns positive, which needs more than $26 million to flip
  • Whether the Fear & Greed Index climbs back above 60 or slides toward "Fear" as the two-day bounce gets tested
